BrightAfrica is RisCura’s research-arm brand, a platform that explores the investment landscape across the African continent. The challenge was to convey complex, data-heavy content in a way that felt credible, human and connected

For the global investment consultancy Riscura, the initiative was to bring Africa-centric insights to the fore through a dedicated platform. At PlatinumSeed, I led the brand development for BrightAfrica, crafting a brand, visual system and digital experience that felt distinct, yet part of Riscura’s ecosystem.

I began with the idea of translation, translating complex economic data into clarity, accessibility and optimism, translating the African spirit into a digital space. To achieve this, I designed a  tapestry of icons inspired by the forms and patterns of the African continent. Each symbol served as a visual metaphor for abstract financial ideas, forming a flexible system that could expand as new content emerged.

The digital experience was conceived as editorial in tone. Generous white space, subtle motion, and interactive data visualisations created an environment where information could breathe and invite exploration.

The result is a calm, data-driven interface that felt both rooted and contemporary. BrightAfrica now exists as a distinct yet cohesive part of the RisCura ecosystem, a living identity that translates complexity into clarity.
